15) WHERE CAN I FIND THE MANUAL FOR THIS REMOTE
1) HOW CAN I MAKE THIS REMOTE DO ALL THE THINGS MY ORIGINAL REMOTE WAS ABLE TO DO?Be sure to try all the codes in their respective code tables. Multiple codes may power your unit off, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a better code match in the code tables. Find the code that provides the most functionality for your device. You can then fill in the gaps using the learning feature if you desire other functions.
2) HOW MANY DEVICES WILL THE URC-200 CONTROL?
The URC 200 is capable of controlling up to 10 devices.
3) WHAT IF I CAN'T FIND A CODE IN THE MANUAL TO OPERATE ONE OF MY COMPONENTS?Do an AUTO SEARCH. This enables you to go one step at a time through each code in each respective device (see p.8 of the manual). You can also teach the URC 200 from your original remote control.
4) VOLUME DOESN'T WORK FOR MY TV, AUD, ETCRemote may be in "Volume Punch-through." Press and hold MAIN and ENTER simultaneously until you reach the setup screen. Then select PUNCH. Next select VOL. Now you will select the device where your volume is missing and then, once that device is flashing, you will select it again. The screen will flash SAVED and your volume for that device will be restored.
5) THE POWER BUTTON DOESN'T WORK IN TV, VCR, ETC
POWER may have been used as a MACRO. To return the POWER button to its original setting, you must erase the MACRO. Press and hold MAIN and ENTER simultaneously until you reach the setup screen. Then select ERASE. Now select MACRO. Next select KEY. Now you can navigate to the power button in question, and once selected, the screen will flash ERASE.
6) HOW CAN I CHANGE A PREPROGRAMMED BUTTON COMMAND TO DO SOMETHING ELSE?You will need to follow the LEARNING method outlined in the instruction manual. You will teach over the respective button from your original remote control.
7) WHENEVER I TRY TO TEACH COMMANDS INTO THE PLAY OR STOP BUTTONS, THE LCD WILL READ 'GOOD,' BUT NOTHING HAPPENS.It is possible that the URC 200 is in a punch through mode. For example, if you tried to teach PLAY or STOP, but they were involved in a PLAY PUNCH, the learning attempt would say good but nothing would happen.
Clear the punch through this way:
-Press and hold MAIN and ENTER simultaneously.
-Press PUNCH, then press PLAY
-Choose device in question.
-Now Press that device again
You are basically punching the device function back to itself in order to get the default setting back. This procedure can apply to all PUNCH clearing.
8) HOW CAN I CHANGE THE MAIN PAGE TEXT?
From the setup screen choose EDIT. Then choose TEXT. Next, touch the PAGE up or PAGE down button until you reach MAIN. This will give you access to the main page text. Now touch the device button you’d like to edit and rename. After renaming, you can save by touching the same device button.
9) WHAT IF I FORGOT WHAT CODE I USED FOR ANY OF MY DEVICES?You can use the recall feature to see which codes you have programmed for each device. From the setup screen press RECALL
10) HOW DO I RESTORE MY REMOTE BACK TO THE FACTORY SETTINGS?You can press and hold MAIN and STOP simultaneously for ten seconds. The word warning will flash across the screen. When you reach the reset screen, press ALL.
11) SINCE THE REMOTE OPERATES RF, CAN I CONTROL OTHER RF DEVICES LIKE MY SATTELITE BOX?
The URC 200 will communicate via RF with the MRF-100A Expander only. You must have an expander in order to receive the URC 200’s radio signals. Components that operate with “no pointing”, like some satellite boxes, cannot be operated by the URC 200 unless the unit can be configured to receive infrared signals via its internal menus.
12) CAN I DISABLE THE RF FEATURE ON THE REMOTE?There is no way to disable the RF feature. The remote operates sending IR and RF signals at all times.
13) I HAVE A URC 200 AND MRF 100 SETUP. CAN I ADD ADDITIONAL REMOTE/MRF SETUPS IN MY HOME?You can use multiple URC 200’s in a home, as long as they are not used with a MRF 100 expander. Once you add a MRF expander for “no pointing” operation, only one URC 200 can be used. The URC 200 and MRF 100 are not designed for multi-zone operation. They are non addressable and are intended for use in homes with one home theatre.
14) MY REMOTE IS ALWAYS ON, CAN IT BE POWERED OFF WHEN I AM NOT USING IT?
Your URC 200 remains powered on for convenience purposes. This will not significantly reduce battery life or damage your remote. In case of battery depletion, the URC200 will store all of your settings in its non-volatile flash memory. You could remove the batteries for months, replace them at your convenience and the settings will still exist as you programmed them.
